You stop being the clipboard between your AI tools
Write a decision down once. Every tool you connect reads the same record.
The Problem
Most AI use is scattered. A conversation on the web, a coding agent in the terminal, an app on your phone, a second vendor's model for a second opinion. Each one starts cold, and you become the human clipboard between them.
It is not that any one tool is bad. It is that none of them holds the record. You do, in your head, and it shows.
How Stompy Helps
Stompy is the record that sits underneath all of them, and it is yours.
You write a decision down once, in one project. Every tool you connect reads that same record, live. It is not a sync that runs every few hours and it is not copy and paste, so you can have sessions from different vendors open at once on one task and none of them works from a stale copy.
You decide what goes in. Stompy does not watch you work or guess what matters. It keeps what you locked, finds it again, and notices when something new clashes with it. Any tool reaches the record through MCP, a REST API or a command-line tool. Claude Desktop and Claude Code, for example, can both connect to the same Stompy project and read the one record you keep.
Over months, tools stop being commitments. You pick the model for the task, move to a better tool when one arrives without a migration, and the record stays where it was, because nothing was ever stored inside the old one.
The limit, plainly: only what you lock is kept. A tool that cannot speak MCP or run a shell command needs the REST API.
Integration Walkthrough
Connect each tool to the same project
Add Stompy once per tool. Claude Code takes one command; every other client uses the same server address, and you sign in with your own account.
claude mcp add --transport http stompy https://mcp.stompy.ai/mcp
Decide it once
Say what was decided and why. The topic name is a handle you will recall it by.
lock_context(project="my-project",topic="chosen_approach",content="""Decision: ...Why: ...What would change our mind: ...""")
Pick it up in a different tool
A new session in another tool reads the same record. Start from the brief, then recall by name or search by meaning.
project_brief(project="my-project")recall_context(project="my-project", topic="chosen_approach")context_search(project="my-project", query="the approach we agreed for the second phase")
Or from a terminal
The same project is open from the command line.
stompy project use my-projectstompy context recall chosen_approachstompy context search "the approach we agreed"
What You Get
- One source of truth: every tool reads the same record, live, not a periodic sync
- No lock-in: nothing is stored inside any one vendor's tool, so moving tools is not a migration
- Three doors to one record: MCP, a REST API and a command-line tool
- Your record, your decision: only what you lock is kept, and each entry keeps its history
